After studying fish at University and a year managing rock producers, Callum settled into journalism, first at the Independent on Sunday and then at style bible Dazed & Confused where he worked his way up to become Editor in 2002. During his 3 years in charge he doubled Dazed’s circulation (killing off The Face and Sleazenation in the process), assisted in launching three new titles, edited three books, curated two national music tours and a three night residency at Shepherd’s Bush Empire persuading Franz Ferdinand, Charlatans, Magic Numbers, Big Daddy Kane and Roy Ayers to play for free) and oversaw high profile campaigns for Warchild, Jubilee 2000, Greenpeace, Elton John Aids Foundation and the National Blood Transfusion Service. He has interviewed Charlie Watts, Kanye West, Bjork, Alicia Keys, Thom Yorke, David Cronenberg and Desmond Tutu; written for The Independent, The Times, the Express, Sunday Herald, Rolling Stone, NME and Esquire; consulted to numerous brands, agencies and organisations, appeared as a regular music pundit for Xfm and as a guest for BBC London, BBC World Service, BBC Choice and CBC Canada. He currently edits bi-annual, International Men’s Fashion and Culture magazine, Another Man in his spare time.
