Live Magazine

One of Livity’s first ever projects, LIVE is a magazine produced for young people, by young people. An ever-changing team of voluntary teenagers write every word, design every page, take every photo, and are mentored by volunteer media professionals in an accredited, structured method of work-based learning. LIVE is for communicating with young people. This is the real voice of young people, showing the world they see and talking about the things they are dealing with. Sometimes raw, sometimes close to the bone, but always positive. LIVE also improve the chances and lives of young people; to broaden their horizons; raise their sights; increase their self esteem, and prepare them for a world of opportunities in education and employment they might not have otherwise discovered. A free 48-page glossy magazine with pull-out poster, LIVE is funded by Lambeth and Lewisham council and distributed across south London to 12-21 year olds. Now part of LIVE Futures, a non-profit social enterprise, it is regularly hailed as a best practice example of youth engagement and communication.
